Yucca Mountain
![]() So recently Pres. Obama decided to cut funding for (or the funding was left out by congress) Yucca Mountain. I realize this is a Nevada issue, but I think its an American issue as well. I'm OK with nuclear waste not being dumped under Yucca. The environmental ramifications are staggering when you consider what would happen if radio active waster were to leak into the water table. But, What about re-enriching some of the wasted uranium like is practiced in other countries (France, for example)? People cry "weapons!" when the subject is brought up, but it would be one way we could recycle dangerous nuclear waste and put it back to use in creating usable energy. What do you think? |
